Media Booking System

MBS ONLINE (Media Booking System) provides media centers with a convenient, centralized solution for circulating and managing media resources such as videocassettes, CDs, kits, etc. Using bar code technology, the MBS tracks media resources as they are reserved, shipped and circulated. The Media Booking System:

• Searches, reserves and delivers
• Defines multiple mail and/or delivery routes
• Offers optional web searching and booking using
     - comprehensive reports
     - streamlined distribution of reserved items
• Creates user database with a custom interface to your employee management system
• Offers full compliance with the MARC 21 Format for Bibliographic Data.

Warehouse/Textbook Integration

The Warehouse/Textbook Integration module combines the inventory control capabilities of Gateway's Warehouse Management System and Textbook Management System with the scheduling capabilities of the CIMS III Student Scheduling System. Together, these products provide textbook administrators complete control over textbook storage and distribution.

With the Warehouse/Textbook Integration module in place, the system can interactively check course enrollment statistics whenever a site requests textbooks from the textbook warehouse. A system formula considers enrollment counts and books already at the location to control requisition quantities.

Another feature allows the textbook administrator to view each school's available inventory quantities whenever a particular school needs additional textbooks for new students. If books required at one school are available at another, the administrator can redistribute the textbooks. This prevents generation of unnecessary purchase orders to fill textbook needs that can be fulfilled with existing district resources.

  

Work Order System

WOS ONLINE (Work Order System) fully automates your facilities maintenance functions. The WOS provides immediate access to cost statistics and other essential information vital to the physical operation of your school district. The WOS allows your district to:

• Track all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance costs and repairs performed by your maintenance department or outside vendor
• Generate preventive maintenance work orders
• Review work order statuses online
• Customize standard tasks for work order jobs
• Define standard procedures, tools and parts for tasks
• Maintain optimum stock levels for stock inventories
• Produce reports for analysis

Warehouse Management System

WMS Online integrates the entire inventory distribution process. Whether a district uses a single warehouse or a combination of primary and central warehouses, users can customize the software to meet their needs. With online requisitions, system-generated pick lists, automated purchase analysis, and an interface to select financial management systems, the Warehouse Management System allows:

• Complete inventory control
• Requisitioning from user-defined item catalogs
• The ability to conduct online requisition review and processing
• A discount or surcharge for requisitioned items
• Requisitioning internal inventory and outside purchases from the same program
• Management of all stock required to run a school district through a single purchase analysis process

Scanners

Welch Allyn Imageteam HHP 3800 is the latest version of Honeywell scanners. It can be connected to the PC and used on location. It has a 5-year warranty and is very forgiving of less than perfect bar codes.

Welch Allyn Imageteam 3820 Cordless Linear Imager. Makes the inventory process much easier. Information is scanned right into the software in one step. The scanner has the same technology as the HHP 3800 which means it will easily read barcodes in sub-prime condition. Scanner coverage is 33 feet.

Barcode Services

Barcodes are offered in both "smart" and "generic" formats. They are printed on durable poly stock and virtually indestructible. We offer most bar code symbologies, the most popular being 3 of 9. Zebra

Zebra, Gateway's Bar Code Label Generator, will print bar code labels for your library items, patron ID cards, equipment, warehouse stock, warehouse aisle/bin labeling, and other items. Zebra can be used as a stand alone application, or interactively with the Library Management System, Media Booking System, Textbook Management System, or Warehouse Management System.

Operating on Windows XP or Vist, Zebra is efficient and easy to use. Print ranges or individual labels, constant text (e.g., school name), variable text (e.g., patron record, stock code record), and different types of barcode symbologies.
